How restoring a photo works
Pick a photo with your camera or from your library, tap one of the plainly-worded actions (Modernize, Colorize, Repair, and so on), and wait about thirty seconds to a minute. The restored photo comes back ready to save, share, or print at 2K. There are no prompts or settings to learn.
What happens to my photo
Your photo is sent to our AI image-processing provider only to perform the restoration, and the result returns to your device. We don't store your photos, and they aren't used to train AI. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
The free trial
Everyone starts with 3 free mends. It's a fixed number of restorations, not a countdown. Once they're used, you decide whether to subscribe — nothing is charged until you choose a plan.
Managing or cancelling your subscription
Subscriptions are billed by Apple and renew monthly. To change plans, cancel, or turn off auto-renew, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone or iPad and select Mend Memories. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep access until the end of the period you've paid for.
Top-up packs and Pro actions
Top-up packs add extra mends; your monthly mends are always spent first, and top-ups expire one year after purchase. The Pro actions unlock (Studio, Headshot, Golden Hour) is a one-time purchase that stays with your account on any plan.
Restoring purchases
New phone, or reinstalled the app? Open the app's settings and tap Restore Purchases to bring back your subscription and any one-time unlocks.
Refunds
Purchases go through Apple, so refunds are handled by Apple. Use Apple's Report a Problem page to request one.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account and its associated data any time from inside the app: Settings → Delete Account. Because we don't store your photos, there are none on our end to remove. Prefer we do it for you? Email help@mendmemories.com. Note that deleting your account doesn't cancel a subscription — cancel that in Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions.
Privacy, in short
Sign in with Apple only, no name or email collected, photos never stored on our end, no ads or tracking. The full Privacy Policy has the details.
A restoration didn't look right
Results vary by photo. Try a different action for the kind of damage you see — for example, Heavy Damage Repair for tears and water damage, or Colorize for black-and-white prints.
A restoration failed or got stuck
Check your internet connection and try again. Restorations are processed online and need a connection.
My purchase isn't showing
Tap Restore Purchases in the app's settings. If it still doesn't appear, email us with the date of purchase and we'll sort it out.
